Nutri-Binder® SUPER POWDER
INDUSTRIAL GRAIN PRODUCTS, P.O. BOX 81982, Lafayette, LA, (318) 237-5643

GENERAL INFORMATION

Nutri-Binder® SUPER POWDER is a new high performance binder for pelletizing animal feeds.  SUPER POWDER is a novel, grain based binder that has been modified to enhance pellet mill efficiency.

SUPER POWDER is a pelleting aid that can provide die lubrication, mill power reduction/ton, fines reduction, and increased pellet durability because of its extraordinary binding benefits.

SUPER POWDER is designed to be used in the 2-6 lb/ton range.  Its properties have been balanced in such a manner as to provide optimum binding capabilties at low concentrations.

In addition to its exceptional binding capabilities and the fact that it is primarily derived from grain, SUPER POWDER can be used on a pound-for-pound replacement of any grain component in feed formulations.

Because of its low inclusion concentrations, SUPER POWDER reduces the amount of binder inventory and storage space required for conventional binders.

SUGGESTED APPLICATIONS

SUPER POWDER  can be used in almost any type of animal feed formulation.  It is effective at low concentration rates in the formation of pellets, blocks, and range cubes.  It is particularly effective in high-fat containing formulations and aquatic feed formulations.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Most conventional binders and some specialty binders are normally used in the range of 2.5% or 50 lb/ton of animal feed in order to achieve minimum fines production and good pellet durability.  SUPER POWDER is recommended for use at concentrations of 2 to 6 lb/ton.  Effectiveness and effieciency at given concentration will vary with mill operating conditions and specific feed formulations.
Pellet Durability and fines reduction generally increase with the increase in concentrations of SUPER POWDER.

SUPER POWDER should be added to dry feed ingredients and blended uniformly prior to being introduced to preconditioning units, pelletizers, cubes, block formers, or other forming operations.  Since it is used in small quantities, SUPER POWDER should be added as the last ingredient in the mixer.  It should never be added first or in the bottom of the mixer. Steam activation prior to the forming process will enhance the effectiveness of SUPER POWDER.  Some block forming operations and formulas may require added steam or moisture in order to bring the temperature in the center of the block up above 100°F.

PACKAGING

SUPER POWDER is available in 50 lb multi-wall, Kraft paper bags.

PRECAUTIONS

SUPER POWDER is an environmentally safe product to handle.  See Material Safety Data Sheet for specific information concerning storage, handling, transportations and safety/health requirements.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

SUPER POWDER stores well and remains stable under normal storage conditions.  SUPER POWDER is non-hygroscopic, but precautions should be taken to make sure the product is stored in a dry area protected from wet weather.

Although SUPER POWDER exhibits long-term shelf life, it is recommended that inventory be turned on a regular basis.  It is not ordinarily receommended that the product be stored for more than a year.  Precautions should also be taken to protect the product from exposure to rodents and insects.
